PHNOM PENH, March 24 (Phnom Penh Post/ANN): The Ministry of Health on March 24 reported another 29 cases of Covid-19, all but two of which were linked to the Feb 20 community outbreak.Of the two imported cases, one is an Indonesian man who arrived in Cambodia via Singapore on March 22 and the other is a Filipina who arrived from her home country through Singapore the same day.
The cluster cases include one Nigerian, two American and four Chinese nationals, with the rest being Cambodian.
Phnom Penh recorded the most cases at 22, followed by Koh Kong at three, and one each in Tbong Khmum and Kandal.
The ministry also reported 34 recoveries, all but one of which were linked to the Feb 20 outbreak.
Cambodia on Tuesday night confirmed one more death from the Covid-19, bringing the total number of deaths in the kingdom to five, the MoH said in a statement.
The deceased patient was a 62-year-old Cambodian woman residing in capital Phnom Penh. She was confirmed to have infected Covid-19 on Sunday.
“The doctors concluded that the 62-year-old woman died from the Covid-19, which caused severe damage to her lungs,” the statement said.
As of March 24, Cambodia had recorded a total of 1,817, with 777 remaining hospitalised and five deaths.
