S&P 500 futures slid while investors kept an eye on the presidential race and fresh jobs numbers

U.S. stock futures edged lower Friday, interrupting the sharpest weekly rally since April as investors focused on the still-undecided presidential election, surging Covid cases and fresh jobs numbers due out later in the day.
Futures tied to the S&P 500 fell 1%, while contracts tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 0.9% lower. Technology-heavy Nasdaq-100 futures declined 1.4%, indicating markets could open in the red.
