The Riverlink Shopping Centre in Ipswich, west of Brisbane, has been listed as a COVID-19 exposure site after Queensland Health was notified by another country that a confirmed case had been in the community last Friday, prior to departure.

The centre posted the advice on its Facebook page earlier this afternoon before Queensland Health listed it as a casual contact site at 2:40pm.
“Queensland Health has informed us that a customer who has tested positive to COVID-19 visited the following retailers at Riverlink Shopping Centre on Friday July 9,” the centre wrote on Facebook.
“Queensland Health is recommending that anyone who worked at or visited these retailers during these times is considered a casual risk contact and must get tested, quarantine, wait for a negative result and complete the online tracing form.”
The sites include:
- Kmart between 12:24pm and 12:40pm
- Vodafone between 12:48pm and 12:55pm
- Telstra between 12:53pm and 1:00pm
- JB Hi-Fi between 1:00pm and 1:10pm
Club Services Ipswich and Chac’s Grill were also listed.

“Anyone who was at the centre on Friday, July 9 between 12:16pm – 1:10pm and 2:30pm – 2:35pm is considered a low-risk contact and should get tested, but are not required to isolate unless experiencing symptoms,” the centre wrote.
“If symptoms are experienced, then you must quarantine at home until you receive a negative result.”
The centre said it would undergo a thorough clean tonight and would continue to monitor the situation.
Queensland Health released a public health alert just after 6:00pm, with two sites in Inala and Brisbane Airport also listed as exposure sites.
In a statement it said it was notified by another country that a positive case detected overseas had been in the community prior to departure.
No new cases overnight
The state recorded no new locally acquired cases overnight.
Five cases acquired overseas were detected in hotel quarantine.

Deputy Premier Steven Miles said the government was continuing to closely monitor the Sydney outbreak but for now, the New South Wales border remains open.
“Pleasingly, the ongoing monitoring of sewage indicates that the outbreak there is largely contained to Greater Sydney, meaning the restrictions in place in Greater Sydney mean that we don’t yet need to put in place greater border restrictions here.”
Twelve NRL teams, 10 of them from New South Wales, officially arrived on private charter flights in Queensland, where they will remain for at least the next two months of the competition.
The decision was made so the competition could continue on the back of the unfolding COVID situation in Greater Sydney.
The players headed straight to COVID hubs in Brisbane, the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, where they will be restricted.
