A former president’s estranged spouse has been granted R95 000 in maintenance, pending their divorce. Neither of the parties can be named in order to protect the children’s identities.

A former president’s acrimonious maintenance battle has revealed how he received hundreds of thousands of rands in credits and mysterious cash deposits – the existence of which he had failed to disclose.
The names of the ex-head of state and his estranged wife cannot be disclosed, following a Constitutional Court judgment that seeks to protect the identity of minor children involved in divorce proceedings.
